Built for smaller communities

Strong value for servers with up to 20 players.

The Budget tier offers excellent price-to-performance for friend groups and small communities with up to 20 concurrent players. It is an affordable way to host a Minecraft server without spending a fortune.

Older hardware, practical performance

To keep prices low, Budget runs on older-generation hardware. It may not match our latest-generation servers, but it still provides plenty of power for most small Minecraft communities. Older does not mean bad; what matters is whether the hardware meets your server's needs.

Pay for more power when you need it

Newer hardware becomes especially valuable for larger player counts, demanding modpacks, or heavier workloads. Depending on your setup, that could mean supporting around 20 concurrent players on Budget versus 50 on newer hardware. If you only need room for 10 or 20 players, paying extra for unused performance may not make sense.

For a friend group or small community looking for cheap Minecraft server hosting, Budget is an excellent place to start. If your community grows, you can upgrade to Standard or Premium at any time.

You always pay the lower amount: the hourly total for your online time or the monthly maximum.

Most customers bring their servers online during their region's busiest hours. We keep enough infrastructure available for that peak demand, which influences the hourly rate.

Customers who stay online longer or 24/7 get a lower effective hourly price through the monthly maximum, without a fixed monthly subscription.

The maximum resets each calendar month, and the first paid calendar month is prorated. Storage and optional backups remain separately billed.

* Euro prices include an estimated VAT of 21%. The final VAT applied at checkout is determined by the payment provider and may vary. Billing is ultimately processed in credits.

Practical capacity

Built for small servers that value efficiency.

Budget is intended for lighter Minecraft workloads where paying for unused high-end CPU performance would add cost without improving the experience.

Why older hardware can be enough

Minecraft performance depends on the work your server performs each tick. A small vanilla world or lightly customized community can run well without our latest-generation CPU platform.

Treat 20 players as planning guidance

It is not a hard slot limit. A well-tuned vanilla server may support more, while a busy world with plugins, farms, or a high view distance may need Standard or Premium sooner.

Player counts are planning estimates, not enforced limits or performance guarantees. Real capacity changes with the Minecraft version, server software, mods, plugins, view and simulation distances, world activity, entities, and how widely players explore. Start with the closest fit, monitor your server, and change plans when its workload changes.

Online-time charges apply only while your Minecraft server is online. When the server is stopped, these charges stop too; storage and optional backup charges continue so your world remains available.

Prices are shown per hour for easy comparison, but online time is measured with second-level precision. Short sessions are billed as short sessions, not rounded up to a full hour.

Online time is billed at the on-demand rate until charges reach the plan's monthly maximum, also called the monthly cap. After that, you can keep the server online for the rest of the calendar month without additional online-time charges.

When you create a server on a paid plan or upgrade a free server to a paid plan, the maximum is prorated for that first calendar month based on how much of the month remains. If paid billing starts around the middle of the month, that month's maximum is roughly half the normal amount, so your online-time charges stop sooner.

The normal full monthly maximum applies from the next calendar month. Storage and optional backups are billed separately.

Storage is billed separately because your world must remain saved even while the server is offline.

Usage is measured in MB-hours and billed daily. A full month of 1 GB of storage typically costs about 10 credits; the exact amount varies slightly with the length of the calendar month.

Storage includes seven daily backups at no additional charge.

Paid plans include seven daily backups as part of the storage price.

Additional backup storage is optional and billed daily from average usage. A full month typically costs about 2 credits per GB, with small variations based on the number of days in the month.

Each tier has different resource limits and CPU performance. Minecraft server performance depends heavily on single-thread CPU performance, so we recommend Premium for the best experience.

Budget uses older CPUs, which lets us offer it at a lower price, but its lower performance makes it best suited to small servers. Standard is the middle ground and is suited to medium-sized servers.

For modpacks, we generally recommend Premium. Some modpacks need significantly more CPU performance in addition to extra RAM.

Budget is a sensible starting point for vanilla servers, light plugins, and small communities of up to about 20 concurrent players. That number is planning guidance rather than a hard limit; world activity, view distance, plugins, and server software can change the resources you need.

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade between paid plans at any time, so you can add resources for a growing world or reduce them later. Moving from a paid plan back to the free tier is not currently supported.

It is not a trial. Your free server stays free, and you can upgrade when you need more resources or paid-plan features.

Both Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition servers are supported.

Install plugins, mods, and modpacks with a few clicks in the integrated workshop.

If an add-on is not available in the workshop, you can upload it using the file manager or SFTP. Uploading custom add-ons is available on paid plans only.

Yes. Paid plans support 24/7 uptime. You can also stop the server when nobody is playing to reduce compute charges without losing your world.

There is no player-count limit. Minecraft defaults to 20 player slots, but you can configure a higher value. Each plan's advertised player count is only a recommendation: realistic capacity depends on the server software, mods, plugins and other customization, player activity, and whether players stay close together or spread out.

Minecraft servers are currently available in Europe, North America, Singapore, and Australia. Choose the location closest to most of your players for the best latency.

Keep costs lean without holding your world back.

Choose Budget for essential paid features and 24/7 availability, with compute billed only while your server is online.
